Welcome to Houston Radio Control
HoustonRC.com is a non-profit, member operated website. It is our goal to become the communication hub for the RC community in and around the Houston Area. It is the Houston RC users (YOU) that provide the information on this website. If you know of an RC related event that is not already on our calendar, PLEASE submit the event using the " Submit New Event" link at the top of this page or email the details to postit@houstonrc.com, If you know of an RC club, airfield, race track or boat pond that isn't on our site, please email as much information as you can to postit@houstonrc.com so we can add it to the website. We also depend on you to get the word out to other Houston RC'ers that we are here. It is also they that will be providing information that we all want to know about. We have flyers available for you to download and post at your local Hobby Shop, Clubs, Race Tracks and Airfields. Remember, the more users equals more information available to everyone.

Jetero RC 12th Anniversary Celebration
|
|
Anonymous writes "You are invited to a 12 Years-On-Site Celebration hosted by Jetero RC Club, Inc. Saturday, March 29, 2008. While Jetero celebrates their 12 years on their own property, the site is now fifty (50) acres, vice last year's 30 acres, of flat open land just northeast of Houston, TX on FM 686 just north of State Highway FM 1960, , between Huffman and Dayton TX. ( www.jetero.com ) The runway is grass, 100 ft. wide, and 600 ft. long.
Any and all full AMA members are invited to attend. Full AMA membership will be available for those caring to participate, but not yet a full AMA member.
Advertised time is 9 AM until 4 PM, however the CD will be there by 8 AM and can remain until dark-thirty. You can too.
There will be some small events and/or demonstrations at times. The AMA Tag program will have a spot in the afternoon. Jetero Introductory Pilots will be available to assist those desiring a try at the sport. The plan now includes a couple simulators to also be available. Bring family to enjoy the day. Otherwise just "plane" ol' fun flying typical of a Fly-In.
One thing different this year is there will be a "Landing Fee" for registered pilots. For $10, you get lunch and twelve (12) tickets for a raffle of an assembled Club 40 Racer with the installed Thundertiger 40 engine. There will be static awards for Best of Show, and People's Choice for Scale and Electric.
In addition, if the rain stops long enough, I hope to have one circle available for Control-Line flying, however the ground may be somewhat rough on rather rough grass. The circle radius will be 70 feet. BTW, even for CL, just like the RC, mufflers are required for all reciprocating engines of .10 cubic inches or more piston displacement.
The group image displays our open flat land and guys just having fun. So come on out and fly what ya' brung or simply hang-out and visit with the crowd.
FYI: The raffle airplane will be very much like this one pictured except that the color is blue vice the black in the image.
At this time I don't know what kind of lunch will be served, however Jetero usually manages something to chew on. I do "Flight Operations", and the Club-Officer-Administrators cover "Support".
Address any inquiries to the Contest Director, Horrace Cain, 31619 Bohlssen Rd. New Caney, TX 77357. 281-399-5627 and I will get back to you. Or try cainhd@aol.com
